As we finished up 2 Timothy we saw Paul give his final fare well. He mentioned people who had deserted and left him but he focused on the people who had stuck around and on how the Lord didn't leave him and strengthen him to be able to finish his ministry assignment.
Some of Paul's last words were critical for Timothy to follow. Preach the Word and Fulfill your Ministry. We learned that the Word has all the power to change lives and fulfilling our ministry will ultimately honor the Lord and change the lives of those around us.
What we value most will transform our lives for years to come. Pastor Ben challenged us during this message to begin to value the word of God so that it can transform our lives. Paul and Timothy were living proof of what valuing the word looks like.
We are faced each day with negative influences that have the potential to distract us from living a godly life and fulfilling our purpose in Christ. Paul warms Timothy and us to avoid those who negatively influence us so that we may not fall into sin and get distracted.
Paster Ben shared from Joshua chapter 1 on how God encouraged him. Joshua was reminded of the need to prioritize God's Word in order to find success in his mission. We can be encouraged by the same thing. God's word will be our guide into the future of fulfilling our calling.
Vision Sunday is one of our favorite Sundays in our church. We took time during this service to celebrate all that God did in and through our church in 2022 and casted vision for where we believe God is leading us in the new year.
